Measuring with Blocks
Today we measured our buddies with blocks.
We learned some important things to remember when measuring.
Amelia learned that if your blocks are crooked you have to make them straight.
Sophie learned you need to use the same blocks to compare different things.
Samuel learned you have to get the right block in the right place where the top of your head is otherwise you'll have too many blocks or not enough.
Charlotte learned if you're measuring someone you have to count the blocks carefully and don't miss any.
Thomas learned you have to take a block off when there's too many.
Annabelle learned that when it's too long you have to take some off.

Creativity
We were lucky enough to have Jeshaiah and her sister Aliana perform for us. Some of the school values they demonstrated were creativity, fun, initiative and community.

More Measurement
Today we compared the length of a piece of string - how long is a piece of string??
We learned that two of the ends have to be together otherwise it's 'cheating'. Here we are with a buddy finding out who had the shortest piece and who had the longest piece.

We have three more people who have been doing some super reading at home. Well done Sophie, Hunter and Samantha.

More Measurement
Today we thought it would be fun to compare height. We worked with a buddy and drew around the shape of our body. Then we used a piece of string to compare our heights. We could see who was taller and who was shorter. We have a huge range of heights in room 7.

CERTIFICATE WINNERS
Congratulations to Samuel and Briannah for receiving this weeks certificates. Samuel is very kind and caring and he always does the right thing at the right time. Briannah has been doing some great reading and writing interesting stories. I'm already on the look out for two people to receive next weeks certificates.

MATHS
We have started learning about measurement and we talked about some of the language we might use when comparing things. We had to draw some worms and cut them out. Then we glued them on to some paper and compared their size.
